1. Click the "Forgot your password?" link on the Facebook login page. This will allow you to reset your password if you've forgotten it.

2.Find your account. Use the search box provided to look up your account name. You can enter your name, email address associated with your account, user name, or phone number.

Any of the email addresses associated with your account will work, so try entering each of your email addresses one at a time. You can have a friend check out your profile to find any contact email addresses that you have listed.

If you have a phone number associated with your account, you can enter it to look up your account.

Your Facebook username is the end of the custom URL for your Facebook profile page.

3. Find your account in the list and click "This is my account." You may have to scroll through several pages of results if you searched by name.

4. Select your password reset option. After you've looked up your account, you'll be asked to select the method you'd like to use to reset your account. The options available will vary depending on how you've set up your account.

If you've logged into Facebook through another account, such as Google or Yahoo!, you'll be given the option to login into that account to access the password reset tool.

You'll be able to receive a link to the password reset tool and a reset code at any email address associated with your account.

If you have a phone number associated with your account, you can have Facebook send you an SMS message with the reset code.

5. Click "No longer have access to these?" if none of your reset options work anymore. If you no longer have access to the email address associated with your Facebook account and don't have any other recovery options, you can try to verify your identity another way. Clicking this link will give you instructions for accessing your old email address. If you still can't get in, you'll be able to enter a new email address for Facebook to contact you at. Facebook will ask you several questions to help verify your identity using this new email address. This will likely take some time.

6. Enter the code to reset your password. Whether you receive an email or an SMS message from Facebook, you'll need to enter the code. You'll need to enter this code to access the password reset page.

7. Create a new password. Once you've entered the password reset code, you'll be able to create a new password. Make sure to create a strong password that you'll be able to remember.
